This Week

Friday, July 2nd - Adult (18+) Sports and Games Night
We meet on 1st and 3rd Fridays for volleyball, ping pong, and board games from 7:30 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.

We will be in Union Place on the 2nd floor.

There will be a brief devotional and announcements at 9 p.m.

Volleyball, Ping Pong, Board games – All skill levels welcome. Feel free to bring your favorite board game.

Sunday, July 4th – Pittsburgh Regatta
Meet Paul at Allegheny Center Alliance Church at 3:45 P.m. and walk to the regatta for some of the activities. Grab a bite to eat The U. S. Army Field Band is performing from 8:00 -9:30 p.m. followed by fireworks. The closing ceremony will be throwing Paul into the water during the fireworks finale.

Upcoming Activities

Friday, July 23rd – Cathi will be hosting a bead and purse party. The beads are made by women in Africa to support their families. The website is http://www.beadforlife.org/ if you would like to learn more about this ministry.
The purses are Miche purses sold by a friend who will show them and make them available for sale. http://my.michebag.com/martha_walton

It will be an Open House format from 6 to 9 p.m. in Upper St. Clair.

Snacks and beverages will be available.

July 24th - Volunteer Opportunity at the Annual Blues Festival
Volunteers needed for the 16th Annual Blues Festival

This is a major event that supports the Food Bank.

When : A small group is signed up for Saturday, July 24th from 1:00 – 6:00
Note: this time slot is full; other time slots may be available.

Where: Hartwood Acres

Friday, July 30th – This is a 5th Friday so we will either go bowling, to a movie, or both.

Saturday, August 14th – Rappelling and/or biking at Ohiopyle.
Dale Craig is willing to provide rappelling and rock climbing for those who are interested. If you would like to learn, Dale will teach you. If you are interested in this, you must RSVP by August 10th.

Some people will be biking on the Ohiopyle trail in addition to or instead of rappelling.

July 9 - Demo Derby at New Alexandria (weather permitting)
o Tickets are $8.00 at the gate for adults and $2.00 for children 6 years and under
o Buy your ticket and meet inside the gate at 7:00 PM, demo derby starts at 8:00PM.
o You may want to bring rain coats or sheets of plastic in case it is a muddy track.
o Friends and family (married or single - all ages) welcome.
o RSVP by July 7 so we know to watch for you
July 11 - Bible Study
o Material: Healing is a Choice by Steve Arterburn - Last session of this study.
o Study begins at 6:30 PM in the Greensburg Alliance Church Conference room and runs until about 8:00 PM
o Child care can be made available with at least 48 hours advance notice.
July 20 - Greensburg Alliance Softball Game (weather permitting)
o Let's turn out and support our teams
o GAC #1 plays GAC #2 at Arona Field
o Time yet to be announced - watch for more details
o Please RSVP by July 18th so that we can contact you in case plans change
July 23 - Annie musical at Latrobe High school
o Sponsored by Bethany United Methodist Church

July 24 - All out Praise Concert
o Headliners are Apologetix and Jonny Diaz
o A block of at least 10 tickets can be purchased early for $15 each - RSVP and pay $15 prior to June 27th for this discounted price
o Tickets at the gate will be $25
o Friends and Family (married or single of any age) welcome
o Outside food and drinks not permitted on the grounds. Since this is a find raiser for Champion Christian school and in order to keep the price of the tickets low, they ask that we support their food concessions.
o Time: concerts 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM, fireworks following the concert
July 25, Aug 8, Aug 22 - NO BIBLE STUDY - we hope to resume on Sept. 12

Aug. 7 - Picnic at Anthony Trout's place (weather permitting)
o Arrive any time after 4:00 PM, dinner to be around 5:30 PM
o Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided
o Bring a covered dish to share and your favorite table or yard games
o Location: Fort Allen area - near the church
o RSVP by July 31 for address and directions and so we know how much meat to buy
Nov. 6 - SAM Thanksgiving Dinner
o GAC Fellowship Hall
o We will provide meat, dressing and drinks
o Bring a traditional Thanksgiving dish to share

Bruce Bickel has a Bible study that meets at 12:10 on Thursdays at First Presbyterian Church on Sixth Ave. Downtown Pittsburgh.

o LOCATION CHANGE FOR THIS NIGHT ONLY: Bob and Sheri Statler's home located at 121 Hawksworth Rd. Greensburg, PA. Call 724-423-8539 for directions. Study begins at 6:30 PM. There will be snack foods provided.
o Please RSVP by June 25 so that we have some idea of the number of people.
