An Invitation from John Bourdakos

Note: Location is at Bistro to Go
Called as Ambassadors of Christ, the ministry of our Lord Jesus has intended for Christians to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. On Saturday, March 12th 2011 at 2pm, we are excited to host special friends who serve our Lord in the country of Greece. Please accept this cordial invitation in joining us to offer encouragement and support as they share what God is doing in and through their lives.

Guest Speakers are:

Viorica Tataru Mayland (Vicky)
Nea Zoi Ministries - Outreach for human trafficking/prostitution
For more info: http://www.neazoi.org/

Nea Zoi, an international ministry based in Athens, Greece, is dedicated to reaching out with the love of Christ to help resuscitate those who have been ensnared within a tragic lifestyle of sexual exploitation. In Greece, roughly 85% to 90% of the women involved in prostitution are foreigners who have been trafficked there on the false promise of a better life. On the other hand, male prostitutes and transvestites, equally in need of the love of Christ, are mainly Greeks. Such a lifestyle is neither pleasurable nor, in most instances, chosen, as many presuppose. Sexual exploitation is a global dilemma and despite its shocking statistics, Jesus Christ offers hope for restoration through the ministry of Nea Zoi. Viorica is originally from the country of Moldova, is married, and fluently speaks 5 languages. She has been living in Athens for the past 14 years and will be sharing about the ministry of Nea Zoi and how God has involved her in this life-transforming effort.

Stephan and Mary Calhoun
Hellenic Ministries – International, non-denominational missionary organization.
For more info: www.hellenicministries.com
HM seeks to serve Christ throughout Greece, the Balkans, the Eastern Mediterranean, and to the ends of the earth. They are joined throughout the year by short-term volunteers from all parts of the globe. Stephan Calhoun is a missionary to Greece with HM. God called him out of the US from a successful business career and placed both he and his wife Mary into full time ministry in Greece. Some of his experiences include weekly soup kitchen ministry to refugees in Athens, ministry to Muslim refugees, as well as Bible distribution and Evangelistic outreaches throughout Greece. Though in its developmental stages, he also has an interest in Church planting which would include training Greek national church planters and evangelists.

Though no advance notice is required, it would be appreciated for planning purposes. If you plan to attend or have any questions, please contact John Bourdakos at jbourdakos@yahoo.com

Lunch Buddies on February 13th

Lunch Buddies was a lot of fun. We learned a lot about each other. For example, can you guess which of the people pictured here...

....broke the omelet retrieval speed record.

....made a spectacle of herself by dropping just about everything she touched.

....bought the most crafts at the crafts fair being held there.

....is obsessed with Martha Stewart.
